About Us
Our Story
In the Beginning
InkScape Tattoo Studio was born out of a passion for self-expression through art. Founded in 2010, our studio started as a small, one-room operation in the heart of Toronto. Our goal was simple: to create a space where individuality could thrive and where the lines between art and skin could blur.
Building the Dream Team
It didn't take long for the word to spread about the quality of work coming out of InkScape. We soon realized that we needed to expand not only our space but our team. Enter Jayne Smith, Jack Garcia, and Laura Smyth—each a master in their respective styles. Their arrival turned our humble studio into a powerhouse of creativity.
Artistry, Quality, and Safety
We always put our clients at the center of our work. This is why we invest in the best quality inks and follow the strictest safety protocols. Your comfort and safety are as important to us as the art we create. Over the years, this commitment to excellence has earned us numerous awards and hundreds of 5-star reviews.

The experience of getting a tattoo can vary from person to person and is influenced by a variety of factors such as individual pain tolerance, the location of the tattoo, and the tattoo's size and complexity. Here are some points to consider:
-
Pain Threshold: Everyone's pain threshold is different. What might be a minor discomfort for one person could be more painful for another.
-
Tattoo Location: Some areas of the body are more sensitive than others. For instance, tattoos on bony areas like the ribs or elbows generally hurt more than those on fleshy parts like the arms or thighs.
-
Artist's Technique: The skill and technique of the tattoo artist can also affect the level of discomfort. At InkScape Tattoo Studio, our artists are trained to make the process as comfortable as possible.
-
Distractions: We offer a comfortable atmosphere where you can listen to music or engage in conversation to distract yourself from the sensation.
-
Anesthetic Options: While we don't generally use anesthetics, some topical numbing agents can be applied if you're particularly concerned about the pain. Consult your artist for options.
It's worth noting that many people find the experience less painful than they initially expected, describing the sensation more like a series of rapid pinpricks or a scratching feeling.

-
Artist Experience: Rates can vary based on the experience level of the artist you choose.
-
Location on the Body: Some areas require more skill and time, which could affect the price.
-
Custom Work: If you're looking for a custom-designed piece, the artist will often charge for the time spent designing in addition to the time spent tattooing.
